Tour Finca Ala de Aves and support your local library
A tour of this house will be a must for those who are interested in seeing a very contemporary house.
We arrive at a house appropriately named Finca Ala de Aves because as we approach, it looks like two stone wings. The house is fabricated from adobe sourced from a neighboring property.
We reach the house via a path on pea gravel leading to cast gravel steps, eventually reaching grand iron doors presenting a large circular “peep hole” that reveals more of the property.
Guests are greeted by a stone arch and a boveda (domed brick) hallway. Continuing, a charming central courtyard with a shallow reflecting pool is revealed.
The variety of collections will intrigue visitors while displaying the breadth of the curation skills of the owners.
The back patio overlooks a small reflecting pool and herb garden. Beyond is the rugged desert landscape and the mountains. The surface of the pool is reflective, magnifying the effect of nature for guests who view from the best orientation.
All in all, the property is truly both engineering reflecting the current state of the art and a design wonder!
