Tour Casa Amparo and support your local library
If you have ever wondered what is behind the interesting doors you see throughout this colonial city, then this is the tour for you. Come with us to explore the wonders beyond the closed doors!
This Special House and Garden Tour will open the doors to Casa Amparo. You donation will benefit the programs of la Biblioteca Publica de San Miguel de Allende.
Casa Amparo was the private home of the San Miguel de Allende mayor 100 years ago! It became a boutique hotel and is now owned by renowned chefs.
The imposing double-carved wooden antique doors sport beautiful polished brass handles and a knocker. Enter the hotel’s bar with its wildly painted ceiling.
The dining room is suitable for a banquet, complete with a chess set and a satin "fainting couch."
The library has a geometrically-painted quadripartite ceiling and carved wood paneling.
Don't miss the game room complete with a crystal chandelier over a vintage pool table.
Outdoor dining on the upper terrace has its own kitchen with spectacular cityscape views.
